Confidentiality Policy

Well House Confidentiality Policy Well House often has information that it must protect and keep confidential, including information about tenants, volunteers, personnel, donors, volunteers and current activities.

Any information about Well House and its applicants, tenants, donors, prospective donors, and any personal information about employees or other confidential information obtained as a result of working with Well House should be considered confidential and should be discussed only as appropriately required in connection with Well House’s work. All information concerning an applicant, tenant, donor, prospective donor, or other confidential information must be maintained in confidence, and particular care must be taken to avoid discussion of Well House affairs with third parties, unless written authorization to do so is obtained from the Executive Director, or as required by law.

All files, documents and working papers of Well House are the property of the Well House. Any employee, board member, or volunteer who purposely, or through a failure to exercise reasonable care, causes confidential information to be disclosed will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. The obligation to keep information confidential continues even after an employee ceases to be employed by Well House.

 

Personal Addresses ­

It is the policy of Well House not to give out staff, tenant or committee member’s personal addresses or phone numbers to outside persons (with the exception of dealings with benefit providers, or as otherwise required by law). Anyone asking for personal information on staff, board or tenants should be instructed to forward all calls, mailings, or invitations to the Well House office.

Donor Privacy

Well House respects the privacy of its donors. Well House collects and uses personal information such as: name, address, phone number, and email address when a donor voluntarily provides it to us. In addition, the Foundation keeps a record of each donor’s giving history. This information is kept on file for IRS purposes and is also used by Management to analyze overall giving patterns in order to make more accurate budget projections.

Tenant Privacy­

Well House respects the privacy of our tenants. No information about tenants can be disclosed without a signed release of information giving authorization to do so. Please confirm, by signing below, receipt of this reminder, that you understand it, and agree to abide by the Policy
