Well House seeks Executive Director

At Well House, we believe the solution to homelessness is housing. Our model is simple: we purchase vacant, boarded-up houses and bring them back to life. We move in our neighbors who need housing the most: those who are living on the streets or in emergency shelters. Whenever possible, we hire our tenants to help with the rehabilitation of the houses. Well House provides safe, affordable housing to the homeless. We recognize that each individual has their own unique needs and challenges, and that a “one size fits all” approach is often a barrier to housing. We are currently looking for a new Executive Director to lead the overall strategic and operational leadership of the organization.

The Executive Director provides direction, strategy and leadership toward the achievement of Well House mission, vision, values, goals and objectives by working with the Board of Directors and acting as liaison between the Board and staff employees. This position requires high-level collaboration, influencing, and communications skills to achieve high performance. In addition to driving sustainability and controlling expenses, the Executive Director is expected to participate in and provide leadership across the organization, while improving our capabilities and performance with all constituencies. A strategic focus on building a sustainable organization, building community impact, building sector impact with strategic collaborations, commitment to diversity and meeting clients where they are at. The Executive Director also serves as an Ambassador of Well House to the public, all stakeholders and private and public partnerships.

Qualified candidates will need at least five years of demonstrated success in staff leadership, fundraising, partnership development and financial management, preferably within the non-profit sector. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Work, or applicable field of study. MBA or similar advanced degree with experience in leadership non-profit positions highly desired. Experience or a demonstrated passion for working with diverse communities, housing first model and harm reduction expertise highly preferred.
